Requirements to be admitted to the MSU S-STEM Program

  • Entering the sophomore year or entering MSU as a transfer student in either Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Demonstrate academic ability or potential (The higher of transfer, cumulative, or MSU GPA must be 3.0 or higher)
  • Demonstrate financial need (You need to complete at FAFSA for the upcomming year)
  • Be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States (as defined in section 101(a) of the
    Immigration and Nationality Act), aliens admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and
    Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence

  • Complete an application
  • Enroll in the S-STEM seminar (after you have been selected)

Requirements to Remain in the MSU S-STEM Program

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative MSU G.P.A. of 3.0 on 4.0 scale 
  • Maintain full-time enrollment each semester
  • Maintain good standing in the S-STEM seminar
  • Remain in an eligible major (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics)
